Re:White Rose Movement Date Posted:17/11/2021 07:05:01Copy HTML When I saw this title I thought....aha, you've hit upon Richard de la Pole the "White Rose" the last man to claim the English Throne as a Yorkist. But sadly not, it's something from World War II I'd never heard of. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Re:White Rose Movement Date Posted:17/11/2021 07:47:16Copy HTML It's hard today comprehend the sheer butchery, sadism and murder figures for the Gestapo, created by what we considered at the time a civilised European culture. Are we all capable of such madness? They were socialists though, which tells you all you need to know. |

The Germans were far ahead of the rest in science & the like & some of the white rose people were actually guillotined. Add that to the list of atrocities & as I was taught, the Germans are not very nice people. |

Re:White Rose Movement Date Posted:18/11/2021 06:42:05Copy HTML The last execution by guillotine in Germany was as recently as 1966, although that was in East Germany where things were more brutal, the last in West Germany was in 1949. France used it up to 1977. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Re:White Rose Movement Date Posted:20/11/2021 09:39:24Copy HTML No. East Germany came across as an exceptionally grim place to live. You know there's a problem when people are getting shot trying to leave a country and not while trying to enter one. Right now the Polish and the EU have a big problem with the corrupt leader of Belarus sending migrants to their borders. |

Re:White Rose Movement Date Posted:21/11/2021 08:31:51Copy HTML President Lukashenko of Belarus is a nasty bastard and he pretty well admits it, unlike Putin and Xi Jinping of China who operate under a veneer of respectability denying all accusations of authoritarianism. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.
