Whatever we think of Trump we can all agree that his election was a gamble brought about by a disillusionment in politics and politicians in general.

In the Ukraine they've taken it even further. They've voted overwhelmingly for a TV personality who plays the President in a comedy show! Things must be bad over there to elect someone on that basis. They'll have the unsettling experience of seeing him as President in his comedy role on TV and in reality on the news. To make matters worse he has made no speeches and has no obvious strategy for governing the country, a country with Putin as neighbour, a man who has annexed part of Ukraine and wants the rest of it too. Good luck to Volodymyr Zelensky! 

Perhaps Alec Baldwin could stand in 2020?
