Why do you have a problem with showing I.D. to vote?  Up there in Canada I'm assuming this makes you so distraught because you don't have to show an I.D. for anything like getting on a plane, applying for a passport or picking up controlled-substance prescriptions.  Must be nice to not have to prove who you are to legally vote.

I am in agreement that you should have to identify yourself when voting. Never said anything about the ID part not being important. Who told you we don't have to show ID for anything liking getting on a plane, applying for a passport or picking up drugs. We can use a valid pictured driving license, a passport or even if you have none of the last, a utility bill addressed to you at your home address to vote with. You are also sent before any election a card which you bring with you to vote. It comes from the Federal or Provincal Government. It lists the polling station in our area to vote at including you full name and address.

Pretty well the same here Mark, they have your information recorded ahead of time on voter lists and cross it out when you put your ballet in the box. All goes like clock work. Don't have to count jelly-beans or anything here.

We are doing the census forms today we got in the mail. Can do them on line or ask for a form which will be mailed to us to fill out.

Just an add on to knowing who you are for voting or for getting the virus shot here in Canada. You have to show your picture Provincal health card to get the shot and the information is added right away to the provinces health records. So they know exactly who has had their first or second shots and who hasn't. If between the two shots and the vaccine is available they will contact you if your appointment has been chanced to a closer date and will automatically cancel out the old one. For our second shot the location has changed so will we have to take a 20 minute drive instead of a 5 minute one like the first. It's a nice country drive though so don't mind doing it because everything is green. We go for that on the 24th of June to a town called Tottenham. On the news tonight they are saying 3 people in New Brunswick who have had their shots are in hospital now with the Delta strain. That's the one that seems to be the new problem in Britain.

In Canada Tommy we are already ahead of the game when it comes to voting. Like what was said eariler both governments already have everyones information and they send out voteing cards to evey one that is eligible to vote which has your full name and address on it. You take that paper to the polling station and you can use different things besides the paper the government sent you to vote. I just show them my drivers licence which has my name picture and address on it and my wife who doesn't drive has to show them a piece of mail addressed to her with our address on it and the paper the government has sent her. Most of that information comes from your income tax that you do each year and from the census forms. That along tells them if you are alive or dead or have moved to another place or province. The polling place can also tell if you have tried to vote twice and it will pop up and tell them right away. So we have a hard time believing voting in the States should be any harder than it is here. To get a virus shot I need a Provincal health card and when they punch that number into a computer it tells them everything they have to know. Health cards are renewed every 5 years with a new picture of yourself for free at the same place you renew your licence at. The health card is the only I.D. I need. 

For voting, the both Governments have all my information already but they do ask for more ways of identifying yourself at the polling stations like I mentioned above. To vote in a Federal election you must be a Canadian citizen but to vote in a provincal one you must come from that Province or own property in that province. In other words, if you owned property here you could vote in local or provincal elections because the out come or changes could affect you or your property.

I just spent 40 minutes getting you all the info on voting in Canada including voting by mail, and it just disappeared before my very eyes with one wrong push of a button.

No my dear, I did it very early this morning the 16th, and I was explaining to Tommy mail in voting in Canada and how it is done. I may also look into voting on line if I can find it. No buddy votes without the Province or Federal government knowing who you are by their records a head of time.

Tommy mentions the Blacks and I can't see them being able to vote unless they have shown who they are in one form or another. What shocked the Republicans last election was they came out in greater numbers that expected, so must have been able to identify themselves in some way or another. You have to remember that it was not just Demo's running all the polling stations, it was a mix of both parties and no irregularities were detected or reported. Trump months before the election stated, that if he lost the election then it was rigged. So he had his mind set months in advance of disrupting the whole system and sewing doubt in the Republicans minds ahead of time. He seen that the Demo's were pushing hard on getting their supports registered and knew it would not go well for him on election day. Actually that's giving Trump too much credit because it was his gang behind the curtain that were also pushing that the election wouldn't be fair. Also more moderate had enough of trump and his mouth, and same for a lot of independants. The Demos do out number the Republicans, so when they do show up in numbers the Republicans will lose everytime.

It's your dark view of republicans that made you lose that post.

Are you joking girl? Trump managed to lose the faith of all the NATO countries with his lack of knowledge of world affairs. Biden just gained a lot of it back.

He also had the woman taking notes of his meeting with Putin rip up her notes and destroyed then so no one would ever know what they talked about.

Then you get some weekend cowboy who runs the group called Cowboys for Trump say, God send Trump and he don't believe that woman or the cop that died are really dead. The Republicans are in the process of tainting your Democracy badly and most Republican are just too thick to know it.

Now Tucker is pushing that it was really FBI and not Trump people controlling the riot. Trucker's own lawyer said you shouldn't believe anything Tucker says because it's all made up for Entertainment only.

To top the news off, the Catholic church won't allow Biden to take comunion anymore because of his parties views on abortion. I call that extortion. I though Church and Politics were suppose to be separate in America.

America should have been in good enough shape to open up completely by July 4th. It won't happen now because too many Republican States won't follow the rules and bother to get a shot of vaccine into it's people. 

So when this virus is still around next summer, don't blame Biden who has tried his best for you, blame your own party who isn't pushing hard enough to get it done in their States.
