On this date in 1982 I harvested (p.c. for killed) a Boone & Crockett scored deer which turned out to be 172.2 Boone & Crockett points. It was the number one deer taken in N.Y. State that year & put my name in the record book. I have since given up hunting at the Tall Dog Lodge & settled for the comraderie instead. It would not be fair to the average hunters if I were to go afield........what chance would they have competing with me?????

The asking nothing for himself, Tommy.

Boone and Crockett, sound like a firm of solicitors in a Dickens novel?

What did you bag it with and at what distance Tom? I need the info for the hunter at my local, who goes to Montana about three times a year shooting. He owns a lot of guns but they are all in America, because he can't have them here.

I think Tommy once mentioned that he was 10 yards away and was using a 50 cal machine gun. I might be out a yard or two on the distance.

Happy Thanksgiving Tommy even if you guys are over a month late in celebrating it. Looked cold for the Macy's parade early this morning.

Americans don't really celebrate Thanksgiving. What they are really celebrating is the end of the football season.

With Meghan Markle taking up residence in Kensington Palace the tradition might take a hold over here, like Trick or Treat.

You mean to say Mark as kids you didn't grow up with Halloween. Each year it gets more commerical here and in the States. It sounds odd but the new norm is dressing up the family pet in different costumes. I think the whole thing was thought up by a group of Denists to increase their business.

In Montana they would usually be hunting Mule deer and where Tommy is they would be White Tail deer Major.  The Mule deer is usually larger probably because of the food they are eating.

Over here Bonfire Night and Penny for the Guy was the big thing on 5 November, but it has been overtaken by Trick or Treat in terms of commercial sales.

Major, shot it with a 12 gauge shotgun with deer slugs at 35 yards. He was chasing a doe at the time & a perfect case of looking for love in all the wrong places. Your mate will be using a rifle for mule deer which has a much greater range than my shotgun.

Did I ever send you that funny email, where there was a magnificent Buck mounted on a Doe (real photo) with the cross hair of a sight on his head and the inscription below said..... at first I couldn't do it, then I thought, that's I I'd like to go.

Yes can just see the headstone now Tommy. Shot in the back at 103 by some jealous husband.

Besides being able to bask in all the glory, did they throw in any shinney things for prises. Like a nice shotgun or rifle?
