Well it proves my point then Art. If Biden did it he was probably on one of thoses tours than they use to do daily because he wasn't a politician at 21. I bet he wasn't dressed in military gear or carrying a rebel flag though. He probably never even tried to beat a policeman up or threated to hang or shoot anyone while there. When I lived in the midwest I called it pop.  When I moved to the east coast I found that they called it soda, so I call it soda now too.   When you move to a foreign country you have to learn the language.

I do ration soda but not chocolate.  I eat Hershey's Kisses till I'm stupid.  That, by the way, is an expression I learned from living in the south.  Other expressions include "she's a mess", "bless his heart" and "durn if I know".  They don't seem to say "goodnight nurse" a lot but they do say "laws" (short for "lordy").

Growing up in the north of England, pop, as you call it, was always called mineral. Ive no idea why and the name has died out over the years, probably due to the American influence on kids. I very rarely drink cola or any other fizzy drink, unless it's beer. The regime is, one coffee first thing, then tea for the rest of the day, beer after 5pm. I always have a beer with my tea, a habit I picked up in Canada. Everybody came home from work, straight in the fridge for a beer. Mind you, it was hot. At first I thought, a beer? at 5? By the end of my hols I was a confirmed convert.

Yes I did look up chicken vindaloo.  It would be way too spicy for me, as most Indian dishes are.  I love the name, though, and love saying it.  Ghost chilis?!  Really?  Those things can kill you (truth).  We have a Napalese restaurant here and I don't know how that differs from straight up Indian cooking.  Before the Great Lockdown, we ate there and they give you a 1-10 level choice of spiciness.  I chose 1 and it was delicious, especially using the basmati rice to balance it.  Still, I felt I could belch fire.

While I don't normally drink beer, I admit an ice cold beer with BBQ is hard to beat.  For the mornings, it takes a minimum of 3 cups of industrial strength coffee, with cream and sugar, to oil the gears enough to get going.  I have to stop the coffee before noon; elsewise, I'm bouncing off the walls until 1:00 a.m.
