Date Posted:04/08/2018 02:42:37Copy HTML The head of the Russian orthodox Church led some 100,000 pilgrims on a march to the gravesite of Czar Nicholas II, Czarina Alexandra, and their five children this week, 100 years after the royal family was brutally executed in the Russian Revolution. The Romanovs were shot & bayoneted by Bolshevik troops & the family's remains were exhumed in 1991 & identified via DNA provided by Prince Philip. His grandmother, Victoria Mountbatten was the czarina's sister. The Russian Orthodox Church made all seven Romanovs saints in 2000, a sign of a resurgence of religious ferver & admiration for Russia's czarist past. Live respected, die regretted

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:04/08/2018 07:10:16Copy HTML We spell it "Tsar" it looks better. Good to see you taking an interest, but I already covered this last month, it's under the title Death of the Romanovs, although your news about the 100,000 pilgrims is new to me.

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:04/08/2018 08:44:58Copy HTML Honoured is the correct spelling over here, Czar/Tsar is optional, but Tsar looks better.

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:04/08/2018 08:53:32Copy HTML I've always been a Czar man myself Mark. Have you noticed that whenever a person is chosen over here to head up an inquiry, he is always titled a Czar. Police Czar immediately jumps to mind and if they are after major drug dealers, they are always drug barons. You can't have a drugs Czar, or a police baron

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:05/08/2018 07:34:00Copy HTML If I can influence you in one thing let it be the "correct" spelling of Tsar. I've failed to get you reading the novels of Arnold Bennet, listening to Britney Spears or developing a passion for Zeppelins, but in this I have a fair chance of success. Talking of Britney, SHE'S HERE, she performed her first show in the UK for seven years at Brighton last night, I go to Birmingham on 31 August. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:06/08/2018 08:08:15Copy HTML And as for Britney Pete, yes I'm going to see her on 31 August in Birmingham. The last train back is 2246 so if she overruns, as major stars can do, I'll be stuck for the night.

That should be nothing for a young Laddie Buck like you. I know that you are not me but remember the parties don't start till after the concert and you just never know who might invite you home for a night cap and a drive to the station in the morning.

Re:ROMANOVS HONORED Date Posted:13/08/2018 08:53:39Copy HTML What and give up the after parties I gave you a heads up on? Next you will be asking Art to come pick you up. (Don't know why he hasn't offered in the first place.) Someone your age should be taking a sleeping bag and a ground sheet and pretending you are back in 69 at Woodstock. |
