200 years ago today, on 24 May 1819, arguably the most famous Monarch in the world was born in Kensington Palace, Queen Victoria.

She was the only child of Edward, Duke of Kent, fourth son of King George III and his wife Victoria of Saxe-Coburg- Saalfeld. She was baptized Alexandrina Victoria and was known as Drina as a child. Her father died when she was just eight months old.

Her birth itself was the result of the unseemly "rush to the altar" in 1818 when the Duke of Kent and two of his brothers, all of whom were unmarried in their 40s and 50s, were compelled to marry in order to produce an heir after the death of the only child of the Prince of Wales at the end of 1817.

What do you know of this one Mark having a child out of wedlock and it being raised by another couple. Apparently it was a boy.

Louise Caroline Alberta was born on March 18, 1848 and died on December 3, 1939. After marrying John Campbell, Marquess of Lorne in 1871, she was given the title of Dowager Duchess of Argyll. Her husband went on to be the Governor General of Canada. Louise was a skilled artist and like her older sisters was a supporter of women's rights. She spent years moving between Canada and Britain, working as the vice-regal consort to her husband. After her husband died, she spent the last years of her life living at Kensington Palace.

Are you suggesting that Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll had an illegitimate son? I've not heard that before.

She was the only one of Queen Victoria's nine children not to have children of her own.

She apparently did they were saying Mark and there was a older guy on the TV program who said he was the Grandson of that boy baby. The program also said that the baby was delivered by the same doctor that Victoria and used to deliver all her children with and that may have been one of the main reasons it never got out. The baby ended up going to a childless couple who the Queen knew well.

It said the daughter was like her mother the Queen when she was younger and enjoyed flirting with the men at all the balls and gathering.

There's no evidence I've come across to suggest anything like that. However if any of Queen Victoria's daughters were to have affairs the most likely would have been Princess Louise due to her unhappy marriage.

She married the John Campbell, Marquess of Lorne in 1871 (he succeeded as 9th Duke of Argyll in 1900) He was almost certainly bisexual, if not homosexual, and there were no children. As a result Louise formed close friendships with other men, mostly from the Arts world, but there's nothing to suggest they went any further.

If someone is claiming that Queen Victoria's doctor delivered the mystery baby they have got their facts wrong. The Queen was attended by Dr James Clark at the birth of all of her nine children. Dr (by then Sir) James Clark died in 1870, before Louise was even married and there is no suggestion of her having romantic liaisons before her marriage.

Louise was the artist in the family, even more so than her mother. The statue of Queen Victoria outside Kensington Palace was designed by Princess Louise.

This baby was suppose to have been born long before she was married and the doctor was still alive. She was born in 1848 and the doctor didn't die until 1870. That means she was already 22 years old when he died. The baby could have been born  4-5 years before his death.

There was no chance of that. If she'd had an illegitimate child in her teens/early 20s there's no way she would have been spoken of at the time as a prospective bride for the Crown Prince of Denmark or a Prussian Prince.

The rumours I suspect stem from -

a) Her unhappy childless marriage.

b) Her unconventionality, she was the most lively and boisterous of Victoria's daughters and mixed with arty types.

c) Her flirtaciousness as a young woman.

If you're looking for a Princess who quite possibly did have an illegitimate child try Princess Sophia (1777-1848) fifth daughter of George III. She is alleged to have had a son in 1800 by Maj-Gen Thomas Garth, a man 33 years her senior.

The Videos are in reverse order. 1 is at the bottom and 2 is at the top. The one we are talking about should be around 23 in the top video but all are interesting.

It's no. 24, whatever number it is it's complete nonsense. The fact that the story in the video is passed over in a few seconds tells us enough.

The TV program I seen had the son of the son that she was suppose to have had. I guess the only way it could be proven is through DNA.
