Date Posted:02/09/2021 08:11:03Copy HTML September 2, 1945 - VJ Day On this date formal surrender documents were signed aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay. Representatives from the Allied Nations & the Empire of Japan signed the unconditional surrender ending hostilities in the Pacific Theater of WWII. The Japanese government had agreed to surrender without qualifications on August 14, 1945 & now it was official. That was 76 years ago today & now the major combatants in WWII are allies & trading partners. Live respected, die regretted

I should think it’s exactly what it says on the tin, the victor has total control. Unconditional surrender to the US bares no resemblance to unconditional surrender to Japan though, the former bathes you in riches, the latter murders you. |
