Well most of us realize that the Brits have been making up stuff for centuries in a vain attempt to make themselves look better than they actually are. But now there are rumors (rumours) that King Arthur actually existed. A telly series about his allege burial site(s) is scheduled along with tours to sift through recent evidence that the legendary monarch is more than a figure from myth.

Does it say where his burial site actually is? It was supposedly located in Glastonbury Abbey in 1191, but that was another tale designed to draw pilgrims to the Abbey. It was not uncommon for religious houses back then to invent stories and exhibit holy relics to attract pilgrims and their money.

I've always assumed that King Arthur was not a real person but an amalgam of several figures from the Dark Ages combined into one heroic persona.

I agree with Mark on King Arthur.  After the Romans left, no doubt there were many half-Romans fully capable of ruling who were left behind.  But what about Sir Lancelot, the round table, Gwinevere, Merlin and my beloved Sir Gawain?

This is an interesting thing you brought up, Tom, because I am reading about the year 665 in Ireland.  King Arthur, if memory serves, was a bit torn between his pagan upbringing and the New Faith.

The 14th century chivalric romance Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is set in north Staffordshire in a ravine known as Lud's Church. It is thought that the anonymous author of the poem came from the area.

There is much mythology surrounding Lud's Church; Robin Hood is said to have hidden there. More plausible is that it was a meeting place for the Lollards in the late14th/early 15th centuries. The Lollards were a reforming Christian sect with ideas 130 years ahead of their time, early Protestants if you like. Lollard's Church has become Lud's Church over the years.

I've been in Ancient Ireland, Little Mr. Kangaroocourtmonitor.  Yes it did appear to be a bit of a kangaroo court. From the Judge to a couple of the jury members. The Judge kept stepping on the prosecution for doing their job in front of the jury and later had to apologies for it but the damage was already done. One female Trump supporter jury member changed her mind daily and another Trump supporter even though the evidence was pointed out by records and signatures in black and white didn't want Manafort to go to jail. I can see why now women weren't allowed to vote in America for many years, can't you Shula??

I see that PB's TDS has leaked over to King Arthur now. There no such thing according to the internet for TDS. Are you trying to say PTSD. If you are then yes I do have a wee touch of it. It's what happens when you have lived in a well disciplined and organizied group with values for years and then step out into a world of chaos were civilians are still trying to figure out if their "A"holes are bored or punched. Into a world which is void of scruples and basic knowledge between right and wrong. I'll be ok though because like Tommy says, he's paying for my retirement medications. You use the were leaked Major I would call it more like over spray.

How long has Trump been infected with this new disease Major?

Wait a minute, this is what it is according to the Urban Dictionary on line..

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their love of Donald Trump, to the point they will abandon all logic and reason. Symptoms for this condition can be very diverse, ranging from racist or xenophobic outbursts to a complete disconnection from reality.

Wow Major, seek help while you still can. Mark and I can say for a fact that we don't have any of these symptoms, right Mark?

The last thing you should have done Major is have me look up TDS on line. lol
