My sister is afraid of dolls, too.  That's why I brought her doll back with me (at her insistence) after Mother died.  For her it wasn't Chucky but rather the Twilight Zone episode "Living Doll" ("my name is Talky Tina and I don't like you!" to Telly Savalas).  When she irritates me I tell her I'm going to ask Santa to bring her a Chucky doll for Christmas.  I haven't told her about the dream I had where the dolls came to life and talked to me -- yet.  I'll save that for when I plan a weekend away and she's left alone in the house.

You tell your sister for me that she has a bitch for a sister, OK.

That wouldn't have worked because she wasn't bothered by frogs snakes or bugs of any kind. Even when we were at the cottage and she was a bit cool sitting outside and I give her my lumberjack coat to put on forgetting to tell her that when the Great Dane seen it thought it was play time. The dog out weighed her by 50lbs but that didn't stop it from dragging her all around the front yard. I couldn't call if off for laughing.

So in other words, you are the one afraid of frogs, snakes and bugs.

No none of those bothers me. Sharks and rats is what i'm not keen on. That same Dane grabbed a extra large Garter snake at the cottage and then brought it over to show my wife. That was the fastest I had ever seen her move since she was a teenager. The snake was about 4 feet long and it was the largest one that I had ever seen.

Up my Way?

We have red coloured ants but not the ones I think you are referring to.

While not indigenous to Canada, red ants have infested the country over time. Some ants being deemed red in colour comes from basic misidentification, as some black ants appear reddish-brown from time to time. The species most commonly referred to as a red ant would be the European fire ant, Myrmica rubra.

No, wrong ant.  I was just reading about these red velvet ants due to a sighting in my area.  They aren't ants at all, but rather wasps.  They look like ants, though.  Horrid creatures.

Dasymutilla occidentalis (red velvet ant, eastern velvet ant, cow ant or cow killer[1][2][3]), is a species of parasitoid wasp native to the eastern United States. It is commonly mistaken for a member of the true ant family, as the female is wingless. The species ranges from Connecticut to Missouri in the north and  Florida to Texas in the south.

I have annual ant problems but they’re not hard to get shut of. They never cease to amaze me just what they’re capable of. Every year I preempt then at the front of the house by putting ant powder Down at regular periods in the spring. My house has solid walls, no cavity and the footings are not deep, the house is built virtually on the ground. It’s on the front corner of the building that they attempt to nest every year, it must be ant heaven. The problem I have is that tunnel up through the back of the skirting board into the living room. A few years ago we returned home to find the living room wall covered with a hundred flying ants, all ready to go. If they had taken off I would have had a thousand Queen ants all over the house looking to set up home. The missus grabbed the hoover and vacuumed them all up before they had chance to take off. In the back garden they nest below the paving stones and there used to be staggering amounts, so I cleared out the gaps between the flags and repointed them all. D’you know, they tunnelled out through the solid cement, amazing.

One of the features of a British summer is white patches of ant powder on people's lawns and gardens.

Ants that fly Art are usually termites Art.

1. Flying ants are just normal ants – with wings!

The ants we’re most used to seeing are female black garden ants, marching around collecting food. But during summer, winged males and new queens of the same species take flight!

2. They fly to set up new ant colonies

The ants take to the skies so that queens can mate with males from different colonies, and set up new nests of their own.

3. Flying ants only swarm during hot summer weather

For a swarm of ants to occur, conditions must be just right – they’re usually triggered by hot and humid weather in July or August.

4. ‘Flying ant day’ is a myth

Because so many ants appear in the same place at the same time, the phenomenon is often known as ‘flying ant day’ – but it’s really more of a short flying ant season. Depending on weather, the winged insects may appear in different parts of the country any time between June and September.

5. There’s safety in numbers

The reason the ants appear in such big numbers is that it helps protects them from predators. Flying all together all at once also gives them a much better chance of finding mates.

6. They’re harmless

These flying beasties might be super annoying, but they won’t hurt you. Plus they provide loads of extra food for hungry birds!

7. Tennis stars hate them!

In 2018, flying ants invaded the court at Wimbledon, distracting tennis players and making news headlines around the world!

8. Female flying ants are bigger than males

Brave enough to take a closer look? You’ll see that some of the winged ants are much larger than others. The bigger ones are the queens – they’re up to 15mm in length.

9. Queens bite their own wings off!

After mating, queens chew off their wings and crawl around looking for a place to dig a new nest. Look out for their discarded wings on the floor!

10. Flying ants are also called alates

Alates is the name given to the winged form of many insects.

Do you have room in your house to keep an ant eater. With their sharp claws they will dig them out of your walls for you. Fly paper around where you think they are coming in might help. Ants like every other bug after time build up a immunity to powers and will only kill less and less each year. As an ant travels it leaves a scent trail for others to follow. Somehow you have to interupt or break the trail.
