Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:18/04/2021 03:18:03Copy HTML For a "small" covid-compliant funeral the whole thing was movingly impressive. And if the idiot Boris thinks I'm going to vote for him after his rules forced the Queen THE QUEEN!!! to sit alone with a soddin' mask on he can think again! It's local elections on 6 May, I'll either vote for an independent/loony candidate or write an abusive message on my voting paper! |

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:18/04/2021 09:14:48Copy HTML I just read where Philip's mother spent some years in a mental institution & that he has ties with Greek, German, & Russian royalty. Also that he had a relative named Princess George?????? Say it ain't so.......a Princess named George. A strange lot to worship, those royals. Reminds me of another old country song; "A boy named Sue." Yes an American boy named Sue. |

Now Mark, you must forget all this hate caused by a poor choice you had last election day. Myself I would turn that hate toward Art who talked you into voting for Boris in the first place, some friend eh? Just like we had no site to go to after Art keep bad mouthing the Chinese and they shut us down for 3 days. |

Fortunately your grovelling kept us afloat. Keep the kneepads handy Pete, we might need them again. Only Plumbers and Hockey players wear knee pads here Art. You can tell the two apart by having them fix a leak under the kitchen sink. The plumber will be the one not wearing a belt to hide his plumbers crack. |

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:21/04/2021 01:38:01Copy HTML Reading a bit about Philip since he went to the great beyond & found him quite admirable in many ways. Born into Danish & Greek royal families, nevertheless he carried his own bags, fried his own eggs & mixed is own gin & tonic. He embodied the the arts of duty by always standing by the Queen's side, & walking the required two steps behind her. He always avoided media attention & seemed to enjoy the trappings of fame & privilege. I particularly liked his gaffes, or sense of humor. While speaking to a driving instructor in Scotland, he reportedly remarked, "How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to pass the test?" He asked an indigenous Aussie businessman, "Do you still throw spears at each other?" Now the question arises, will Prince Charles be able to be the Queen's rock in place of his father? Live respected, die regretted

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:21/04/2021 03:16:23Copy HTML Yes, but in a different way as son rather than husband. After all Prince Philip gave up Royal duties and public appearances in 2017. Until the pandemic he lived at Sandringham apart from the Queen for most of the time, although they spoke by phone every day. Once covid arrived he moved to Windsor with her. Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:21/04/2021 11:24:48Copy HTML I think Harry has always been rather fascinated by the Hollywood set. I hope he is happy with his choice to step away from Royal duties but I have my doubts about whether this marriage will stand the test of time. Her ego is as big as the state of California and he has been raised to be a Royal. You are absolutely right about her calling him home. She's the boss in that family and it shows.

Thought he might have stuck around for his Nan's birthday but then she is still in mourning and there will be no birthday celebrations until that's over. |

A song with nasty lyrics about an American woman, from a Canadian band, with a copy-cat name from a British band. Sums up Canadians eh? No real concept of who they are as long as they can be someone else. Anyone else. |

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:26/04/2021 08:38:46Copy HTML The tabloids are raving that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to topple the British Monarchy. Why do I keep thinking of George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence? I have another Royals question. I have read a lot recently in the news tidbits about the Queen's family life. Mention is made of several of her relatives in whom she places a great deal of trust. One is a granddaughter and one a daughter-in-law I believe. The articles say that they meet regularly to watch old movies or other pastimes. Are they the ladies in waiting of yesterday? "It is forbidden to spit on cats in plague-time."

Don't be reading tabloids Shula, their as bad as watching Fox and Tucker Carlson. All Bull. I heard she only watches James Bond moves. That why the Brits have made so many of them. |

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:27/04/2021 04:04:42Copy HTML The "tabloid" was MSN news. They're saying Meghan is telling her media friends everything that Harry tells her. He is now being referred to as "Hollywood Harry". In order to stay relevant the media needs gossip. Meghan needs to stay relevant.

The daughter-in-law is Sophie, Countess of Wessex who's married to her youngest son Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. The granddaughter is the Wessexes 17 year old daughter Lady Louise Windsor. She was especially close to Prince Philip and has taken up carriage driving under his mentorship. The British public is not going to fall for Meghan's commentary from afar, the Monarchy is safe from anything she/they can do. |

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:27/04/2021 01:51:16Copy HTML I don't think the Oprah interview helped Meghan and Harry at all. The sad part is that Harry agreed to take part in it. He knows the rules his family follows of not spilling their guts to the media. In my opinion they both looked like petulant little children who didn't get their way so they're sobbing their way into victimhood. Meghan thinks that exposing the Monarchy will result in Britain demanding that Harry be king and the rest of the Royals thrown out on their ears. Even sadder is the fact that Harry can't stand up to Meghan and tell her to keep her mouth shut. If he allowed her to claim that Archie not being named a prince because he is biracial was against royal protocol then he will allow her to say any untruths she wants. She needs constant media attention and to get that she knows she has to say something shocking. Leaking everything Harry tells her is in bad form but it keeps her in the headlines.

Re:HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021 Date Posted:30/04/2021 02:49:18Copy HTML I see the interview as a publicity stunt. I just can't believe Harry isn't mortified by Meghan's behavio(u)r. In Hollywood, attention is everything. If you fail to stay in the limelight, you fail. Her passing everything to her media pals that Harry says will get old after a while. No wonder the royal family doesn't speak to him.

Her passing everything to her media pals that Harry says will get old after a while. No wonder the royal family doesn't speak to him. Harry was young when his mother passed and I think he missed the loving attention his mother gave to him. He felt he needed a woman back in his life and he just unfortunitly picked the wrong one. She used her charm and married woman skills on the poor weak lad and that is the end of the story. |
