Date Posted:11/08/2021 09:49:53Copy HTML I've had a look at all of our State/Provincial/County flags and I'll give my opinion on each. Virginia. Not over keen, a bit weird to be honest, what on Earth is going on? - 7/10. New York. Not much better, another odd coat of arms, colourful though - 7½/10. Tennessee. Not keen, looks odd with the blue stripe on the "wrong" side - 6½/10. Ontario. Much better, a proper flag, spoilt by the insipid "flowers" - 8½/10. We've only recently compiled a list of County flags, we don't go in for them much at regional level. Cheshire. Another odd one, not obviously anything to do with Cheshire - 7/10. Staffordshire. Quite nice, distinctly Staffordshire, perhaps a little too yellow - 8/10. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Cheshire’s flag dates back to Norman times, I like it, it’s plain but charmingly agricultural, bountiful, natural, productive. Well I'm glad you weren't a judge at the Olympics Mark. You gave the Ontario provincal flag an 81/2 and that Cheshire thingy an 8 when it should be more like a 5. |

Re:Flags Date Posted:12/08/2021 07:11:22Copy HTML Cheshire's flag got 7, my own Staffordshire is an 8. No need to post life size pictures of your flags, I had to go outside and look in through the window to see them properly. I've seen the Saskatchewan flag being waved when the Queen and Prince Philip visited Stafford in 2006. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

No need to post life size pictures of your flags, I had to go outside and look in through the window to see them properly. I've seen the Saskatchewan flag being waved when the Queen and Prince Philip visited Stafford in 2006. Sorry Mark, had to made them bigger for the older people here. I copied small pictures from the net and most came out a crazy size when I posted them here. Blame management, I would. You show be a flag with a Granny knot on it and you give it an 8. Don't they know how to tie a proper reef knot there? I expected you of all people to be able to place each flag with it's proper Province or Territory. So out of 12 you only recognize one of them? Can't even grade you with a shaky F for that performance. Didn't the Royals have a range in Saskatchewan some place? You have to remember each one of the flags is flown over a larger land mass than all of England. Why am I up at 4:12am teaching you Geography |

Re:Flags Date Posted:12/08/2021 09:54:55Copy HTML It's the Stafford Knot, the emblem of the Stafford Family which has been appropriated by the County of Staffordshire. Look up almost any governmental, military etc image from Staffordshire and you'll see the Stafford Knot. You're playing chess with Fate and Fate's winning.

Look up almost any governmental, military etc image from Staffordshire and you'll see the Stafford Knot. It only takes one person in the beginning to make a mistake drawing a knot wrong and now he has all of Stafford doing it. I can see the Air Force being bad at tieing knots because I have witnessed them doing it first hand. It would never happen if it was a Navy, Army or even a Boy Scout tieing it. Where my answer to my flags question. |
